FILE WORKFLOW
Connect applications to shared file storage
Manage files in your browser and connect drives, scripts and applications through S3. Scope permissions by bucket and choose public access, private downloads or temporary sharing.
Delivery workflow
- 01Applications / S3 tools
- 02VOS buckets
- 03Authorized downloads / Sharing
Your application handles the workflow. VOS stores files and provides access according to your settings.
Implementation steps
- 1
Create buckets and assign permissions
Use letters, numbers and hyphens following the naming rules. Create a key scoped to the target bucket. Uploads and automatic CORS setup require suitable write permissions.
- 2
Configure tools and CORS
Enter connection parameters from the S3 guide. Supported applications can read and update bucket CORS rules. Browser CORS and private-file authentication apply independently.
- 3
Complete an upload and download
Start with a small file to test upload, listing and download. Use multipart uploads for large files. The maximum object size is 10 GiB, unless the console specifies a lower limit.
- 4
Choose an access method
Use public URLs for public files and signed links for private files. Create temporary shares for download pages, or configure CDN for acceleration.
How charges are calculated
Capacity accrues by storage duration in GiB-days. Current files, previous versions and recycle-bin contents count toward capacity. CDN access is billed separately when enabled.
