VOS Object Storage
Create a bucket and upload files
Use a test file to check bucket selection, upload, listing and download.
Prepare a test file
Go to Object storage VOS → Buckets. Choose a small, non-sensitive file and note its original name and size. Complete one upload and download before uploading a production batch.
Buckets organize files and access settings. A successful upload does not make the file public; access is configured separately within the bucket.
Upload your first file
- Create and name a bucket under Buckets, or select an existing bucket. Search by name or domain, or filter by permission and status.
- Open Files in the target bucket, navigate to the destination folder and open the upload dialog.
- Check the destination bucket and folder, select your local test file and start uploading. Browsing another folder later does not change this task's destination.
- Find the file under Transfer tasks and confirm completion. If it failed, review and resolve the error.
- Return to the original bucket and folder, refresh the list, check the name and size, then download and compare the content.
Everyday file management
| Goal | Where | Check afterward |
|---|---|---|
| Find a file | File-list search and folders | Confirm the file belongs to the current bucket and target folder |
| Move or rename | File action menu | Find the new location and name |
| Temporary external access | Temporary file sharing | Check the link and expiry in a signed-out window |
| Restore a deleted file or older version | Trash / Version history | Check the restored folder and content; read the confirmation before restoring |
Check file integrity
Use a small test file to verify upload, listing and download. Compare original and downloaded sizes, and checksums if needed. Task submission or increasing progress does not prove that the entire file is saved.
Task completed but file missing
- Clear file-list filters, return to the bucket and folder recorded in the upload task, then refresh.
- Confirm that the task actually completed. Handle failed or interrupted tasks under Transfer tasks instead of uploading repeatedly to different folders.
- Sign in again if the account session expired. If the host page says Object storage VOS is not responding, select Retry.
- For capacity, file-size or bucket-status errors, keep the original message and resolve the relevant condition before uploading again.
Deletion and capacity
Capacity includes current files, historical versions and trash. A file disappearing from the list does not mean all its storage is freed. Read confirmations before overwriting, deleting or emptying trash, and keep separate backups where needed.
